PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery equipped with a cap assembly and its sealing member. SOLUTION: The secondary battery includes battery part with a positive electrode plate, a separator and a negative electrode plate wound round in turn, a can containing the battery part, a cap plate set on a top part of the can with a terminal through-hole and an electrolytic solution injecting hole formed, an electrode terminal set in penetration inside the can through the terminal through-hole with a gasket interposed on its outside for insulation with the cap plate, a cap assembly equipped with a sealing member inserted into the electrolytic solution injection hole to seal it and with its top edge in contact with a top edge of the electrolytic solution injection hole, and an electrode tab drawn out of either electrode plate in the battery part and electrically connected with the electrode terminal. With this, the sealing member can be combined in a proper position to the electrolytic solution injection hole, which improves a sealing property of the battery to secure a reliability of the battery.
