PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce burden on a tension lifter while improving a vibration absorbing function of the tension lifter in a chain tensioner device. SOLUTION: This chain tensioner device is provided with a tensioner arm 16 journaled to a fixed structure Ea to be capable of oscillating to be applied to a loosening side outside surface of an endless transmission chain 14 connecting a drive sprocket 11 to a driven sprocket 12 to be relatively slidable, and the tensioner lifter 18 to energize the tensioner arm 16 toward the transmission chain 14. Between the tensioner arm 16 and the tensioner lifter 18, a control arm 17 is provided to be journaled to the fixed structure Ea to be capable of oscillation to transmit energization force of the tensioner lifter 18 to the tensioner arm 16.
