PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk reproducing device employing a decoder element not including an AV synchronous processing function that attains an AV synchronous processing by means of software during reproduction processing of video information when an audio signal comes earlier than a video signal. SOLUTION: When comparison of time information between a video signal and an audio signal decoded by a decoder indicates that the audio signal comes earlier than the video signal by 100ms or more (YES in #2), an AV synchronous mode is set (#3), and whether or not an image to be decoding-processed next is a head image of a VOBU is discriminated (#4). When the image to be decoding-processed next is the head image, its reproduction time is decreased to correct shifting of synchronism (#5), and when the image to be decoding-processed next is not the head image, ordinary reproduction processing is applied to the image (#6). When the lead time of the audio signal with respect to the video signal is 30ms or below (YES in #7), the AV synchronous mode is cleared (#8). COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
