PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition compatible on an excellent level of mechanical strength and flexibility and a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet. SOLUTION: This pressure-sensitive adhesive composition comprises a polyester in which a resin component as a main component has a side-chain containing a hydrocarbon group and a main-chain containing a cyclohexane structure, and a number average molecular weight is not less than 5,000. Preferably, the ratio of a solvent-insoluble component of the polyester after crosslinking treatment is not less than 10 wt%, a glass transition temperature is -10°C or lower, and a storage modulus at 23°C is 1×10<SP>6</SP>Pa or less. The pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet comprises a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer consisting of the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
