PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid excessive fuel consumption while the generation amount of carbon dioxide is suppressed by allowing the volume of main combustion chamber to be variable. SOLUTION: The volume of a main combustion chamber 1 comprising a stabilizing burner 12 is variable. Since the main combustion chamber is changed from a large volume to a small one, a waste is efficiently incinerated even if it is of small quantity (or at completion of incineration). A temperature can be raised quickly to 800 deg.C in a small-volume state at start of incineration for gradual starting of incinerating a waste as large volume at high efficiency.
