PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device, in which control of a storage means can be made common, regardless of the construction of other means. SOLUTION: A digital copying machine 1 stores image signal inputted from a reading part in a HD 48 via an image memory 43, reads out the image signal of the HD 48, transfers the signal to an imaging section 3 via the image memory 43, and forms an image in the imaging section 3. A memory control section 41 measures and stores an image signal transfer speed from the reading part 2 to the image memory 43, the image signal transfer speed between the image memory 43 and the HD 48, and the image signal transfer speed from the image memory 43 to the imaging section 3. Thus, a control of a storage means can be made common regardless of the kind or the configuration of an image input/output means. When a change or addition of the image input/output means occurs, the control of the image signal can be performed based on the measurement result of the image signal transfer speed at the time when the change occurs. The developing efficiency of the digital copying machine 1 can be improved by controlling a highly versatile storage means. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
