PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently performing desiliconization while restraining the lowering of carbon concentration in the molten iron, in the desiliconization treatment for molten iron. SOLUTION: When the desiliconization treatment is applied to the molten iron, by which gaseous oxygen source or solid oxygen source is added while stirring the molten iron 4 by injecting gas for stirring or slag-making agent into the molten iron, carbon source is injected into the molten iron. In this case, supplying speed of the carbon source into the molten iron is increased according to the lowering of the silicon concentration in the molten iron, or the injection of the carbon source is started when silicon concentration in the molten iron is≤0.1 mass% and thus, the lowering of the carbon concentration in the molten iron can further be restrained.
