PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support diversification of CCI (Copy Control Information or recording control information) under the condition that increasing request for strengthening and diversification in configuration are simultaneously anticipated for copyright protection. SOLUTION: A recording control information added to an acquired content data is extracted, and the content of the recording control information is recognized. In response to the result of the recognition, the content of the recording control information added to the content data is converted into a content to which an external device can execute a suitable operation for the recording of the content data. Then, the recording control information generated in a such way is added to the content data to send to the external device. According to this operation, copy control is implemented based on the content of the recording control information, even if the external device does not support the content of a recording control information added to a content data.
