PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically add keywords defining contents of a data file to the data file. SOLUTION: A data management apparatus, having a file system for managing by storing data files in folders, wherein the existing data files in the folders are set keywords as explanations for defining the contents, is provided. The data management apparatus comprises an interface for receiving a new data file, a memory portion for storing a file system, keywords and the new data file received by the interface, an input portion for a user to input an instruction to move the new data file to a folder, and a processing portion for extracting keywords set for the existing data files in the folder and setting the extracted keywords to the new data file, in response to the instruction.
