The invention comprises compounds of formula: <FORM:0951029/C2/1> where R1 is a halogen atom and Z is an alkylene radical having 3 to 5 carbon atoms optionally substituted by one or more alkyl groups having up to 6 carbon atoms, their salts, and their preparation by (a) reaction of compounds of formula: <FORM:0951029/C2/2> with compounds of formula: <FORM:0951029/C2/3> where one of X and Y is an amino-group and the other is an isocyanate group or a group which is converted thereto under the reaction conditions, e.g. a carbamic acid halide, methane, thiomethane, urea, aryl urea, disulphonyl urea or semicarbazide, or (b) reaction of a benzene-sulphonyl halide with a semicarbazide or its parabanic acid derivative. The compounds of the invention may be used as oral antidiabetic substances. |
