摘要 <p>A hardenable unsaturated polyester composition comprises a monomer from a vinyl ester of an alpha ,alpha -branched alkane carboxylic acid containing 8-14C in the acid moiety in 10-85 wt.%, a vinyl ester of an aromatic acid containing 7-12C in the acid moiety, the monomer being optionally mixed with a monoalkyl(methyl)acrylate or polyalkyl(meth)acrylate comonomer, and a vinyl aromatic monomer in 5-80 wt.%. A hardenable unsaturated polyester composition comprises (a) an ethylenically unsaturated polyester, obtainable by condensation of (a,i) an aliphatic mono alcohol, diol, and/or polyol, (a,ii) an unsaturated aliphatic mono acid, dibasic acid, optionally mixed with a cycloaliphatic or aromatic dibasic acid, and optionally (a,iii) a glycidyl ester, alpha ,alpha -branched alkane carboxylic acids containing 5-14C in the acid moiety, and (a,iv) 0-60 wt.% relative to the weight of the polyester without monomer, of dicycloalkanediene having 10-16C; (b) a monomer from (b,i) a vinyl ester of an alpha ,alpha -branched alkane carboxylic acid containing 8-14C in the acid moiety in 10-85 wt.%, (b,ii) a vinyl ester of an aromatic acid containing 7-12C in the acid moiety, the component (b) being optionally mixed with a monoalkyl(methyl)acrylate or polyalkyl(meth)acrylate comonomer, where the alkyl residue contains 1-10C in 10-60 wt.%, and (b,iii) a vinyl aromatic monomer in 5-80 wt.%, the wt.% of (b,i), (b,ii), and (b,iii) being relative to the weight of total component (b). (a) and (b) occur in a mutual weight ratio of (a) and (b) in 40/60-70/30 relative to the weight of (a) and (b); and a curing catalyst optionally accompanied by (d) an accelerator and (e) a co-accelerator. An independent claim is also included for a hardened, shaped, articles obtainable by hardening a hardenable unsaturated polyester composition, optionally mixed with >=1 auxiliaries, such as low shrink agents and fillers.</p>
