A fastening arrangement 142 comprises first and second co-operable fastening members 146, 150 each having a conical face 148, 152 to engage the conical face 152, 148 of the other fastening member. The fastening arrangement further includes locking means 168 to lock the first and second fastening members in engagement with each other. The arrangement may comprise third and fourth fastening members 154, 158 each having a conical face 156, 160 to engage the conical face 160, 158 of the other fastening member. The first fastening member 146 may be a split ring that is deformable to accommodate the movement generated by tightening the locking means 168.
