PURPOSE: A method for preventing car theft using a navigation terminal is provided to receive authentication data from a mobile terminal if the mobile terminal is connected, and to start a car by the authentication data, thereby reducing possibility of a car being stolen. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal(300) registers mobile terminal telephone numbers and passwords in an ITS(Intelligent Transportation System) terminal(400)(500). The mobile terminal(300) requests authentication by communicating with an information center(100)(502). The information center(100) confirms user information transmitted from the mobile terminal(300), and supplies an authentication number to the mobile terminal(300)(504). The mobile terminal(300) transmits the authentication number to the ITS terminal(400)(506). The ITS terminal(400) confirms whether the received authentication number and a telephone number of the mobile terminal(300) are right(508). If so, the ITS terminal(400) requests a password of the mobile terminal(300)(510). The mobile terminal(300) transmits the password to the ITS terminal(400)(512). The ITS terminal(400) supplies a start control signal if the password is the same as a prestored password(514). |
