PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abrasive material carrying out finishing, etc., of even a piece of work having a complicated surface shape in a short time and improving even the work environment. SOLUTION: The abrasive material is obtained by charging a core material prepared by granulating a hot-melt type pressure-sensitive adhesive with a hot air jet into a rotating drum, mixing the core material with a polishing fine powder together in the rotating drum and thereby applying the polishing fine powder to the core material. Furthermore, a core material obtained by crushing a frozen pressure-sensitive adhesive is charged into the rotating drum and mixed with the polishing fine powder in the rotating drum to thereby apply the polishing fine powder to the core material. The core material is composed of a material having at least viscoelasticity and a pressure-sensitive adhesive such as a rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesive or an acrylic-based pressure-sensitive adhesive is preferably used.
