PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the silence and durability by eliminating an abnormal noise or wear by the contact between wires of a rotation energizing spring. SOLUTION: The assembling angle between a drive ring 3 and a driven shaft member 7 is operated by a lag-side energizing spiral spring 47 and an advance-side energizing hysteresis brake 20. In such a valve timing control device, the spiral spring 47 serving as a rotation energizing spring is dipped in a lubricant, whereby the sliding part between the adjacent portions of the spring is sufficiently lubricated.
