ACRYLIC ACID DERIVATIVE COMPOUND, COMPOSITION, POLYMER LIQUID CRYSTAL OBTAINED BY POLYMERIZING THE COMPOSITION AND USE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photopolymerizable liquid-crystal compound which has a high double refractive index and develops a high-temperature liquid-crystal phase.

SOLUTION: The acrylic acid derivative compound has a mesogenic skeleton which contains three phenylene groups and in which at least one of linkages connected to the phenylene groups is an ethynylene group. The liquid-crystal composition comprises the compound. The polymer liquid crystal is obtained by polymerizing the liquid-crystal composition. The polymer liquid crystal is suitable for an optical element for an optical head.
