PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving article detector which adopts a detecting element having a narrow detecting range and in which an unevenness in thickness of a frame hardly occurs. SOLUTION: The moving article detector includes the frame 2 having a bottom 22 and a space 21 opened in a predetermined direction, a detecting element 31 for detecting a moving state of an element 8 to be detected, a circuit substrate 5 for placing the element 31 and contained in the space 21, and a sealer 7 filled and formed in the space 21 so as to seal the substrate 5 in the space 21 in such a manner that the element 31 has a thin part 23 thinner than the other part of a bottom 22 at the bottom 22 opposed to the element 31.
