<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having high safety and good operability constituted so that a serviceman call is continuously displayed even if a power source is turned off once and then turned on again when the abnormality of high danger occurs, as for a copying machine and the like. <P>SOLUTION: In the case the high temperature abnormality of high danger occurs (YES at step S11), the serviceman call is continuously displayed even if the power source is turned off once and then turned on again (step S12), then, the operator necessarily performs the serviceman call. On the other hand, in the case the abnormality of no urgency occurs (NO at step 11), the display of the serviceman call can be released by turning off the power source once and then turning on the power source again, thereafter, the user can use the copying machine 1.
