PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an acid-curing type resol phenol resin composition which has low viscosity, a high solid concentration, a controllable pot life and performance of rapidly curing after passage of an operation time of impregnation, etc. SOLUTION: The acid-curing type resol phenol resin composition is an acid-curing type resin composition containing a resol phenol resin (A) and an acid (B). The resol phenol resin (A) is one obtained by reacting an aldehyde with a phenol in the presence of an alkali substance to give an alkali resol phenol resin and neutralizing the alkali substance remaining in the alkali resol phenol resin with an acid (1) having≤0 pKa and an acid (2) having≥1 pKa.
