A pair of projectors (4) project the laser beams towards the respective objects (1,2), such that the axes of projection are mutually variable. The distance from a reference point to each object, is measured based on the reflected light received by photodetectors (5) from respective objects (1,2). The distance between the objects, is measured based on the calculated distance and angle between projection axes.
