VIBRATION CONTROL METHOD FOR BUILDING STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for building structure which controls a passive type vibration control device with a nonlinear attenuation coefficient only by a mechanical mechanism. SOLUTION: Hydraulic oil in a first oil chamber 9 is compressed and a reaction force is applied to a piston 5 while a force in the direction of D (opposite direction of direction A) is applied to the piston 5 of a hydraulic damper 1. Strain energy is stored in the hydraulic damper 1 during that time, and when the direction of vibration is reversed and a force in the direction of A is applied to the piston 5, an opening/closing valve 25 is opened and the pressure of the compressed hydraulic oil in the first hydraulic chamber 9 is released at a time to absorb the strain energy stored in the hydraulic damper 1.
