PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fan motor capable of obtaining high ventilating performance even if it is thin and to provide an electronic device provided with the same. SOLUTION: The fan motor is provided with a rotary shaft 4, a cylinder 31 comprising a ferromagnetic body which is fixed to the shaft 4 and almost closed at one end face, a boss 3 having a guard 32 projecting from the rim to the the other side of the cylinder 31 in a radial direction, a ring 51 engaged with the cylinder 31 and abutting on one main face of the guard, an impeller 5 having a plurality of blades 52 forming a prescribed exit angle and extending to the outside in a radial direction apart from the cylinder 31 in the ring 51, a driving magnet 6 fixed in the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder 31, a bearing means 41 rotatably holding the shaft 4, and a stator 7 fixed outside of the bearing means 41 in a radial direction to be opposed to the magnet 6.
