PURPOSE: A device for switching a channel of a video apparatus is provided to retrieve an external input signal and a broadcasting signal when a video apparatus is powered on, and to automatically switch into a channel where a synchronous signal is detected. CONSTITUTION: A tuner(100) tunes broadcasting signals with a preset start channel when a video apparatus is powered on. A switching unit(120) performs a switching operation with at least more than one external terminal, and outputs external input signals inputted from the external terminals. A synchronous signal detector(130) detects synchronous signals from the tuned broadcasting signals or the outputted external input signals. A microcomputer(140) stops the switching operation of the switching unit(120) when the synchronous signal is applied, outputs the external input signals having the synchronous signal, stops a tuning operation of the tuner(100), and outputs the broadcasting signal having the synchronous signal. |
