PURPOSE:To make it possible to read out also large drawing exceeding the capacity of a general A4-size image scanner in the case of inputting an object to be read out such as a map and a drawing to a computer as numerical data and to sharply reduce reading errors on the drawing. CONSTITUTION:This image reader is constituted of an A4-size image scanner 5 for reading out image information from a drawing 11, an input device 1 for commanding a main control device 3 to read out, display and store the image information, a display device 2 for displaying each image information, the main control device 3 for storing the image information and connecting the stored image information with the up-to-date image information to form new image information, and an auxiliary storage device 4 for storing the new image information. In the case of moving the position of a drawing to be read out, the drawing is moved in parallel on a moving rail A7 for the scanner 5 and a guide rail 9 for a moving rail B8, a transparent plate 6 mounting the drawing 11 is moved and plural read images are mutually connected to form a united image. |
