A first RLP RTT estimate can be established during service negotiation, and is used to determine NAK message timing in a subsequent RLP communication session. Alternatively, a 3-way handshake is performed for generating a first RTT estimate associated with the first RLP communication session, a second RTT estimate, based on the first RTT estimate, associated with a second RLP communication session is established during service negotiation. The second RLP RTT estimate is used to determine NAK message timing in a subsequent RLP communication session. |
