<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid giving a sense of incongruity to a driver by movement of a head light (head lamp) in turning a vehicle right or left. <P>SOLUTION: Adjustment of an optical axis direction of the head light of the vehicle is prohibited (time t05∼time t08) as the optical axis direction of the head light is returned to an initial position even when a steering angle STA becomes large out of a specified range STAth in stopping once at an intersection or within the intersection or travelling at a low speed in swiveling and adjusting the optical axis direction of the head light of the vehicle. Thereafter, swivel control is restarted (after time t08) after the vehicle comes to be in a rectilinear travelling state as it is judged that the vehicle stops once or is in the middle of travelling at the intersection or within the intersection in moving to the swivel control in the middle of turning after starting. Consequently, it is possible to prevent the driver from being given the sense of incongruity as no radical following control is executed even when the car speed SPD exceeds a specified value SPDth in starting and passing through the intersection after the vehicle once stops within the intersection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
