PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system wherein a client and a server are accommodated in separated LANs, an increase in time necessary for communication is not felt even when communication is performed via a multitude of routers and switches, and deterioration of user's sensory quality is avoided. SOLUTION: This communication system has a plurality of computers being user terminals 1 to 4, client functions 5 to 8 mounted on the terminals 1 to 4 respectively, applications 9 to 12 mounted on the terminals to use setup information, setup information recording parts 13 to 16 by means of the applications 9 to 12, respectively, reserved in the terminals, a preservation server 17 connected to the terminals via a communication network 20 for preserving recorded setup information 19, a server function 18 mounted on the server 17, a user list and user-by-user certification information recorded in the server 17, and a setup information recording part 19 by means of user-by-user application recorded in the server 17.
