<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt for a paper machine for sufficiently supplying a lubricant between the belt and a shoe. <P>SOLUTION: The belt 10 for a paper machine is composed of a substrate 20 and an elastic polymer part 30 and has a face 11 contacting with wet paper and a face 12 contacting with a shoe. The face 12 contacting with shoe has randomly formed small protrusions and recesses by powder 40 filled in the elastic polymer part 30. Preferably, the surface roughness Rz of the shoe contacting face 12 is 50-500μm, the particle diameter of the powder is 5-500μm and the amount of the powder to be added to the elastic polymer part is 5-50 wt.%. An increased amount of a lubricant can be supplied between the shoe and the belt 10 because the lubricant is held on the small protrusions and recesses formed on the surface by the powder and, accordingly, the friction between the belt and the shoe is lowered to lower the driving energy of the paper machine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
