POLARIZER, OPTICAL FILM AND IMAGE DISPLAY

摘要

A polarizer composed of a film having a structure wherein micro regions are dispersed in a matrix of translucent thermoplastic resin which contains an absorbing dichromatic dye. The polarizer is characterized that the transmittance is not less than 80 %, the haze value is not more than 10% with respect to a linearly polarized light in the transmitting direction, and the haze value is not less than 50 % with respect to a linearly polarized light in the absorbing direction. The polarizer is a dye polarizer having high transmittance, high polarization degree, and high reliability in thermal resistance. The polarizer can suppress variation in transmittance at the time of black display.
