<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the reliability in output control of light by assuring the high utilization efficiency of the light radiated from a light source. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup system 20 includes the light source 21, two light reflecting means 22a and 22b which are arranged in the positions symmetrical with respect to an axis 47 of the light radiated from the light source and reflect the light rays 34a and 34b radiated from the light source and diverged toward the outer side of the peripheral edge of a collimator lens 25, monitoring light detecting means 23 which are arranged in the positions making the distances between the light reflecting means respectively equal to each other and detect the reflected light by the reflecting means, and an APC (automatic power control) circuit 24 which responds with the detected output of the monitoring light detecting means and controls the output of the light radiated from the light source. The optical pickup system 20 uses the light not used for recording/playing of information for output control and is therefore high in the utilization efficiency of the light and can improve control stability by increasing the quantity of the light received by the monitoring light detecting means used for the output control of the light by the light reflecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
