PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pet cleaning material which can be easily used in cleaning a pet such as a dog and a cat, excels in usability, inhibits skin irritability, and can effectively remove staining and an odor. SOLUTION: This pet cleaning material is obtained by impregnating a base material in the form of a sheet having water retention characteristics with a liquid cleaning agent comprising a pyrrolidone carboxylic acid or its salt, an alcohol selected from the group consisting of a sugar alcohol and a polyhydric alcohol, a bactericide, and a silicone. As the basic material in the form of the sheet, a 40-80 g/cm<SP>2</SP>mesh nonwoven fabric is preferred, and as the silicone which is present in the liquid cleaning agent, a silicone oil selected from dimethylpolysiloxane, methylphenylpolysiloxane and their modified products is preferred.
