PURPOSE: A device for opening/shutting a door and starting an engine by using fingerprint recognition and control method thereof is provided to offer convenience to a user and to prevent the theft of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A device for opening/shutting a door and starting an engine by using fingerprint recognition is composed of a fingerprint pattern sensor(100) installed at a vehicle and detecting the fingerprint pattern of a user, a standard fingerprint pattern storing unit(200) storing a standard fingerprint pattern, a door locking unit(600) locking/unlocking a door of the vehicle, an engine driving unit(700) switching on/off the engine, and a microcomputer(800). The microcomputer compares an input fingerprint pattern with the standard fingerprint pattern, and controls the door locking unit and the engine driving unit. |
