PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the disengaging workability of a connector provided with an incomplete fit preventing function. SOLUTION: A compression coil spring 70 is assembled in between a spring bearing part 31 of a female housing 20 and a spring lock 53 of an elastic member 50. The spring lock 53 is front stopped by a front stopping part 43 of a cover 40. The cover 40 is front stopped against the female housing 20 by a holding projection 45. When engaged, the compressed coil spring 70 is shrunk and brought back by the elastic member 50 by having a pressed part 58 of the elastic member 50 pressed by a front end surface 10a of a hood 11. The pressed state of the front end surface 10a of the hood 11 is released by having an arm 51 of the elastic member 50 elastically deformed by a pressure release guiding part 34 in the process of both housings 10 and 20 being brought into a regular engagement. When releasing, the cover 40 is brought back and the locked state is released by having a lock arm 28 elastically moved by having a movable operation part 80 varied from an operation not possible position to an operation possible position and both housings 10 and 20 are brought apart.
