PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic teller machine that reduces possibility of a bill jam in a feed passage by increasing separability between a bill and a foreign matter such as a coin. SOLUTION: The automatic teller machine 1 has a bill inlet 16 positioned above a bill storage space S, so that bills R need delivering upward to the bill inlet 16 in the bill storage space S. The delivering action can cause foreign matters A trying to move along with the bills R to fall naturally by their deadweight, to appropriately prevent foreign matter access to the feed passage 15 resulting in a bill jam. A first bill flow passage 17 is also devised for upward extension from the bill inlet 16, so that even if the foreign matters A enter the bill inlet 16, the fist bill flow passage 17 can cause the foreign matters A trying to flow along with the bills R in the first bill flow passage 17 to fall naturally by their deadweight.
