<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for heat-treating a steel effectively without affecting rolling efficiency, in the in-line heat treatment of the steel using induction heaters. <P>SOLUTION: After the steel 2 rolled by a hot rolling mill 1 is quenched by a water quenching device 3, the strain of the steel 2 is relieved by a straightener 4. Then, in the course of heat treatment by a plurality of induction heaters 5, the steel 2 is reciprocated and heated by passing the steel 2 on three or more paths through the induction heaters 5, that is, the steel is subjected to the so-called reverse heating. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
