<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food contained in a single meal tray, needing no freezing equipment for preservation and eatable without transferring itself to another tray, and to provide a method for producing the food. <P>SOLUTION: The food contained in a single meal tray is produced by holding in the single meal tray 6 a cooked mixed food 1 prepared by mixing boiled rice 2, finely chopped noodles 3 and ingredients 4 together followed by seasoning with a seasoning liquid and then sealing the opening of said tray 6 with a sealing material 7 followed by subjecting the resultant package to retort treatment.
