PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly operate an operating member by absorbing the deformation of a supporting member made of a synthetic resin, in a locking device for a double-hung window which is composed of a main body, the supporting member and the operating member. SOLUTION: The locking device is equipped with the main body 1 which is equipped with a lock rod 4, the supporting member 2 made of the synthetic resin, which is mounted on the main body 1 with a mounting screw 25, and the operating member 3 which is supported on the supporting member 2 in a vertically movable manner so as to allow the entrance/exit of the lock rod 4; a slit 24 is formed adjacently to a mounting hole 23 of the supporting member 2; and the deformation of the supporting member 2 due to temperature change and the deformation thereof due to a fixing force, generated by the fastening of the mounting screw 25, can be absorbed by the slit 24, so that the operating member 3 can be smoothly moved upward and downward.
