PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooled type neutron shielding device for housing therein a neutron generation source in a surrounded manner thereby shielding a surrounding environment, this device being easily manufactured, resistant to transverse load acting in the event of earthquake, transport, and the like, and capable of correctly securing a flow path for a cooling material. SOLUTION: This cooled type neutron shielding device, easily manufacturable and resistant to transverse load during transportation, etc., is obtained by a method wherein first and second disk bodies are alternately disposed in a vertically spaced manner between inner and outer barrels surrounding the the neutron generation source and the bodies are fixed to the inner barrel by a means such as welding. The first disk bodies each make close contact with an inner barrel and have a gap bordering an outer barrel while the second disk bodies each have a gap bordering the inner barrel by means of a spacer and make close contact with the outer barrel.
