PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fork lift capable of preventing the breakage caused by the contact of a step with other substances without spoiling its fine appearance. SOLUTION: In the fork lift wherein the step plates 4 arranged on the right and left side sections of a frame 1 are extended above front wheels 5, and plastic steps 8 are provided for covering the step plates 4 from the front, the side and the upper part, and the front wheels 5 from the upper part, its appearance is kept fine by hiding the step plates 4 and other substances are prevented from coming into contact with the steps 8 by providing flat plate-like step guards 10, which are fixed to the lower face of the step plates 4 on the upper side of the front wheels 5 and overhang along the lower faces of the steps 8 and on the front side and lateral sides more than the steps 8.
