PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device by which the occurrence of a defective part at a delivery time is suppressed by preventing the movement of a layer thickness regulating member when a developing sleeve and the layer thickness regulating member come into contact or collide and keeping an SB gap constant.

SOLUTION: In the developing device possessing at least a developer carrier, the layer thickness regulating member to regulate the layer thickness of developer carried on the developer carrier to a specified layer thickness and a screw member to fix the layer thickness regulating member at a specified position, adhesive is applied on the bearing surface of the screw member coming into contact with the layer thickness regulating member. The layer thickness regulating member is disposed at the developer carrier by leaving a specified space.
