OPTICAL FIBER CABLE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable which has a thin diameter, stabilizes cable distortion and a loss characteristic and is excellent in workability and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This optical fiber cable is composed of a long-length optical element part 13 that covers with a cable sheath 11 a unit 7 obtained by collectively unifying optical fiber core wires 3 made of a single or a plurality of wires or tape wire cores with a thermoset resin 5 and tension members 9 for optical elements arranged parallelly at both sides of the unit 7. Notch parts 15 are formed on the surface of the cable sheath 11 on both sides of the unit 7 perpendicularly to the direction in which the tension members 9 for optical elements are connected.
