PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a depth of a kitchen unit to expand in appearance without remodeling an existing counter of the kitchen unit, implement it at a low cost and provide the kitchen unit with a drain capability. SOLUTION: The depth expansion member for the kitchen unit (1)is provided with a trough part (3) of which an upper face (3a) opens and a lower face has a gradient for water flow and which has a connection part to a drain pipe on the lowest part and a specified width with which the trough part (3) is lengthwise fixed on an upper part of the back (2) of the kitchen unit (1) and a cover (4) to be mounted on the whole of the upper face opening part of the trough part (3) and provided with a plurality of drain holes formed on an upper face (4a). When the cover part (4) is mounted onto the upper face opening part of the trough part (3), the upper face (4a) of the cover part (4) has the same or approximately the same level with the upper face (5a) of the counter (5) of the kitchen unit (1).
