<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and precisely sort metallic pieces such as syringe needles from medical wastes sterilized and crushed in a hospital without needing manual sorting. <P>SOLUTION: Crushed matters of the medical wastes crushed after steam sterilization are in a mutually twined state by moisture. These are separated by charging into a vibration feeder 11 for vibrating them and loosening the twined state. The crushed matters are carried by a belt conveyor 12 and dropped at a rear end of a magnetic pulley 13. At this time, non-magnetic crushed matter not attracted by the magnetism of the pulley 13 drops, while metallic pieces like syringe needles are moved being attracted to the belt conveyor 12 by the magnetism of the pulley 13 to be easily separated from other crushed matters. A partitioning plate 14 is preferably provided at the rear flow end of the pulley 13 for adjusting the sorting accuracy. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
