PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device of which a fitting of a spacer can be easily made and a manufacturing cost accompanying the installation of the spacer is reduced. SOLUTION: A first board 1011 and a second board 1017 are placed in opposition inside a vacuum vessel. At least one spacer 1020 has a supporting member 1030 fixed at its either end in a longitudinal direction. By the supporting member 1030 being fixed to either the first or the second board 1011, 1017, the spacer 1020 is set so as to have its longitudinal direction vertical to the first and the second boards 1011, 1017, and is pinched between the first board 1011 and the second board 1017. The support member 1030 is fixed outside a region where an electron emission element 1012 of the first board 1011 is fitted or, outside a region where electrons of the second board 1017 are irradiated.
