PURPOSE: An apparatus for dehydrating and compressing garbage is provided which substantially lowers moisture content of the garbage and retards decomposition of the garbage by separating moisture from the garbage and crushing the garbage and recycles the garbage by processing the garbage having a lower moisture content. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for dehydrating and compressing garbage comprises a garbage container(1) in which garbage is contained; an oblique knife blade(2) installed inside the garbage container and rotated to a low speed to crush garbage accumulated in an upper part of the garbage container; a knife blade hole(3) through which the oblique knife blade is rotated; a dehydration cylinder(4) for separating moisture from the garbage; a compressing unit(5) installed at a lower part of the garbage container to compress the garbage by slantly pulling down the garbage if the crushed garbage piled up on an upper part of the compressing unit, wherein the garbage is compressed so that moisture is separated from the garbage to be removed through holes formed on the outer wall of the dehydration cylinder; a central shaft(6) connected to a low speed motor so that the central shaft is moved only by operation of user; a connection coupling(7) for separating the garbage container and the dehydration cylinder; a moisture receiving can(8); a dehydration port(11) connected to a hose of a lower side; a garbage receiving can(9) for receiving moisture separated garbage; a garbage discharge port(12) installed at a lower part of the compression unit to discharge the moisture separated garbage into the garbage receiving can when the compression unit is operated; and a low speed motor(10) for driving the apparatus.
