PURPOSE: A backlight unit is provided to change the thickness of a diffusion plate at positions facing light sources, thereby preventing bright lines. CONSTITUTION: A backlight unit includes a reflection sheet(22) mounted on a base frame(21), a plurality of light sources(23) mounted on the reflection sheet, and a diffusion plate(28) mounted on the light sources. The diffusion plate has a surface formed with light dispersion parts(31) at positions corresponding to the light sources. The light emitted from the light sources is radiated to the diffusion plate directly or indirectly via the reflection plate. The light incident to the light dispersion parts is changed in the reflection rate by the convex shape of the light dispersion parts thereby being dispersed in every direction and weakened in the light intensity at the positions corresponding to the light sources. |
