PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of preventing the low temperature troubles and freezing troubles with stored foods and having a rapid cooling control which is advantageous for a production cost. SOLUTION: This refrigerator comprises a series of refrigerating cycles having one compressor and two coolers. One cooler is formed as a cooler used exclusively for refrigerating temperature. The cooler comprises a rapid cooling switch for selecting a forced rapid cooling operation mode, a cooling chamber blower for circulatingly discharging cool air from the cooler used exclusively for cooling temperature into the cooling chamber, and a cooling chamber temperature control means for controlling the refrigerator temperature by controlling the cooling chamber blower. By operating the rapid cooling switch, the cooling chamber blower in the forced rapid operation mode is driven for a specified time and, at the same time, a set temperature is varied by the cooling chamber temperature control means, and the set temperature is varied by a freezing chamber temperature control means.
