PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a graphics controller which is composed to be adaptable to an arbitral display device. SOLUTION: The graphics controller has a clock, a counter, and a memory for holding a timing scanning pattern. The timing scanning pattern is an expression of a timing signal corresponding to a protocol necessary for a particular display. The timing scanning pattern is held in a plurality of addresses in a memory. The counter is connected to the address input of the memory. When a counted value increases responding to a clock pulse, a similar increase takes place in a selected memory address. The content of the memory existing in respective selected addresses is supplied to the graphics display device. The graphics controller is composed for use with different display devices by storing various timing scan patters in the memory. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
