PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide radio equipment provided with a characteristic compensator for compensating an orthogonality error of a mixer with small power consumption. SOLUTION: A real signal received by an orthogonal detector 2 is converted into a complex received signal S1 of an IF frequency. If complex received signal made to be a digital signal by ADCs 3 and 4 includes a desired signal (quasi-desired signal) including an image signal of a nondesired signal and a nondesired signal (quasi-nondesired signal) including an image signal of a desired signal, a frequency converter 5 further performs frequency conversion of the frequency of the quasi-desired signal into a signal close to a direct current component and further performs frequency conversion of the frequency of the quasi-nondesired signal into a signal close to a direct current component. A decimeter 6 applies filtering and downsampling to a quasi-desired signal S2 and a quasi-nondesired signal S4, respectively. The characteristic compensator 7 uses a complex conjugate signal of an inputted quasi-desired signal S5 and suppresses an image signal of a nondesired signal included in an inputted quasi-desired signal S3.
