COMPOSITION COMPRISING EXTRACTS OF CUCUMIS MELON LINN. VAR. MA-GUA, IXERIS DENTATA AND YOUNGIA SONCHIFOLIA FOR TREATMENT OF CHRONIC VIRAL HEPATITIS DISEASES

PURPOSE: Provided is a composition comprising extracts of Cucumis melon Linn. var. ma-gua, Lxeris dentata and Youngia sonchifolia for the treatment of chronic viral hepatitis diseases. It increases liver function, inhibits HBV DNA proliferation to show antiviral effect, and is thus useful for prevention and treatment of chronic viral hepatitis diseases. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for prevention and treatment of chronic viral hepatitis diseases is characterized by containing, based on the total weight of the composition, 0.5-50% of crude extracts of Cucumis melon Linn. var. ma-gua, Lxeris dentata and Youngia sonchifolia having effective inhibition effect on HBV DNA proliferation. The crude extract is obtained by using a polar solvent selected from water, methanol, ethanol, a mixture thereof, and a buffer solution.
